Founded as a Royal Bakery in 1660, Cafe Konditorei Regner is located in the pretty village of Seckau, a quintessentially Austrian landscape of hills and meadows. Though the family run bakery produces all manner of cakes and pastries, they are especially known for their Lebkuchen; a traditional German baked Christmas gingerbread. When he inherited the business from his father, Michael Regner decided to create his own gingerbread recipe, with a softer texture and subtler flavour. Today Michael has plenty of help in the family's huge new kitchen. Both his daughters and his son are all trained artisan bakers; his son Gregor won gold at the International Baking Competition in Canada. Loyal to the family’s motto “Quality has its Tradition”, Michael Regner and his family place high regard on the quality of their products and in their craftsmanship.
