  • Grilled Portobello Mushroom Tacos With Plum Sauce

A super easy taco recipe prepared with Mekhala's All-Natural Plum Sauce. The sweet and tangy pickled plums mix in lovely with the smoked paprika, mushroom texture and other savoury ingredients. 


2 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed, cleaned, sliced into ½” slices
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp red wine vinegar
¼ tsp smoked paprika
Dash or two of salt
Generous amount of pepper
4 tbsp salted black beans
4 soft taco shells
1 small cabbage, shredded
4 tbsp grated cheddar cheese
Mekhala All-Natural Plum Sauce



  1. Marinade the mushrooms with the oil, smoked paprika, vinegar, salt and pepper) for 15 minutes
  2. Set the grill on medium heat. Once hot, place mushroom slices on the grill. Grill for 4 minutes per side.
  3. On medium heat, heat up the soft tacos for 30 seconds on each side
  4. To assemble the tacos, layer cabbage, mushroom, beans and cheese in each taco. Top with Mekhala All-Natural Plum Sauce and enjoy!
