A classic panna cotta is actually one of the easiest desserts to make in any home kitchen, requiring just half an hour of preparation time. But while this dessert is almost fool-proof to make, its simplicity means that you should always try to use the very best ingredients available – like Profood’s Pompona Vanilla Pod – to make the difference between a good panna cotta and a great one.
Ingredients 1 cup / 250ml milk 1 cup / 250ml whipping cream 3 sheets / approximately 12g gelatine 1 Vanilla Pod - Pompona 2 tablespoons sugar Optional garnishes, such as honey and mint, fresh fruit, or raspberry coulis, as they do in France. Alternatively, make like the Italians and serve with a splash of Grappa!
